Additionally, we appreciate how the Galaxy S22 Ultra skillfully incorporates the cameras into the back design. There isn’t much of a camera bump. Both phones have water resistance rated at IP68.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S22 Ultra: Display

The Galaxy S22 Ultra has the upper hand regarding size and resolution due to its 6.8-inch display’s 3088 x 1440-pixel resolution. The iPhone 14 Pro Max display is smaller, measuring 6.7 inches and 2796 x 1290. Both panels can go as low as 1Hz and provide 120Hz refresh rates.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S22 Ultra: Cameras

The 48MP wide camera on Apple’s flagship has a new quad-pixel sensor and produces brighter, more detailed images. Due to Apple’s Photonic Engine, you also get a new 2x telephoto option and superior low-light performance.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S22 Ultra: Video

Due to its ability to shoot video in 8K and 24 fps, the Galaxy S22 Ultra is a little more video-proof in the long run. 4K and 60 fps are the maximum settings for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. With very stable 4K pictures, Apple is the king of the video world. Although Apple is the best at this, Samsung is fantastic at taking videos.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs. Galaxy S22 Ultra: Performance

The A16 Bionic processor in the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the first one produced by Apple, employing the 4-nanometer manufacturing process, and it is once again the fastest chip in a phone. The CPU is only said to be 10% quicker than the A15 Bionic, but it has 50% greater memory bandwidth, which improves visuals and playability.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max scored 1,882 for single-core performance on Geekbench 5 and 5,333 for multicore. With 1,249/3,392 on the same testing, the Galaxy S22 Ultra Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU lagged well behind.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs Galaxy S22 Ultra: Battery life & charging

The iPhone 14 Pro Max charges slowly, which is a disappointment. With a 30W charger (and 50% is the claimed output), we only reached 42% in 30 minutes. The Galaxy S22 Ultra, in contrast, used its 25W charger to charge to 58% in 30 minutes. This phone charged 67% in 30 minutes using a 45W charger.

Final Thoughts:

The iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Galaxy S22 Ultra are top-notch smartphones, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max prevails in this competitive comparison after our testing and side-by-side comparisons. In the end, it is all about cameras.

Although the Galaxy S22 Ultra has several significant advantages, such as a longer zoom, the iPhone 14 Pro Max produced images with higher overall quality. Video is no different in this regard. Additionally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a longer battery life and better overall performance, all of which are advantageous features.

Overall, the S22 Ultra is a great option for Android lovers who are prepared to spend more money, but the iPhone 14 Pro Max is still our preferred choice. Get your favorite one quickly.
